INFORMATION REGARDING SCHEDULE , REQUIRED GEAR , AND REGISTRATION BELOW

GEAR REQUIREMENTS FOR BASIC RIDER COURSE

For all courses without proper riding gear you will not be permitted to ride.

CERTIFIED DOT HELMET

The standard is Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218).

This is known commonly as the DOT (Department of Transportation) helmet standard for riding on the road.

EYE PROTECTION

Face shield or goggles that meet Indiana state standards. This also includes glasses.

LONG SLEEVES

Long sleeves are required for the course. Additional dress wear is acceptable.

Dress for the weather.

LONG PANTS

Long Pants preferably jeans are required for the course. These pants must not be torn. Pants with holes are not permitted.

FULL-FINGER GLOVES

Protect your hands from the elements on and off the bike. Full fingered gloves without holes are a must have.

OVER-THE-ANKLE FOOTWEAR

A sturdy over-the-ankle boot is meant to cover the ankle bone. This is a requirement to minimize injury, should one occur during field exercises and maneuvers.

WHAT STUDENTS NEED TO BRING

A State Issued Photo ID: No learners permit or license is required to take this course.

E-Course Completion Certificate: The e-course MUST be completed before the first scheduled session.

Classroom Documentation: Please print off classroom documentation found in your e-mail confirmation and come with it signed and ready

Gear: Students are REQUIRED to bring ALL of the GEAR mentioned above or you will Not Be Permitted to Ride.

Rain Gear: Students should check the weather a few days before arrival; classes will continue as scheduled in the event of rain.

Loaner helmets are available in sizes XS to XXL

MRT practices ATGATT: All The Gear, All The Time.

Motorcycles are provided for this course.

NOTICE

 

Successful completion of the course will waive the state skills and written test for endorsement. Successful completion of the course may also qualify you for an insurance discount.

 

This course is PASS OR FAIL.

MRT assumes no responsibility for any student completion of these rider education courses. To complete the course you must attend all sessions and pass a riding evaluation.

 

There are no refunds and registration is NOT transferable.

For $50 you may reschedule two weeks prior.

 

Students who currently hold an out of Indiana state license will be charged an additional fee of $130. Please check out Obtain a Motorcycle Endorsement for more information.

 

Students should arrive at least 15 minutes before the class begins.

 

If you are less than 18 years of age you must have a parent or guardian present to sign an Agreement of Financial Liability the beginning of the first day of class.

 

Payment must be completed at time of scheduling to ensure your reservation.
